Bell Schedule
What time does Buchanan High start and end the day?
Our school operates on an alternating “block schedule.”
Monday, Thursday and Friday:
- Buchanan High starts the day at 8:30 a.m.
- Zero Period starts at 7:30 a.m.
- Buchanan High ends the day at 3:18 p.m.
- Monday is an “all periods” day.
- Thursday and Friday are “block schedule” days.

Tuesday and Wednesday:
- Buchanan High starts the day at 8:40 a.m.
- Zero Period (Tuesdays only) starts at 7:30 a.m.
- Buchanan High ends the day at 3:18 p.m.

Foggy Day Schedule
In the event of severe foggy weather conditions, a Foggy Day Schedule may be called. There are two variants of this:
- Plan A: a two-hour delay in bus transportation. Busses will begin their pick-ups two hours after they are normally scheduled. School will begin at the normal time for students not riding the bus. School will still release at the same time as normal.
- Plan B: a three-hour delay in bus transportation. Busses will begin their pick-ups three hours after they are normally scheduled. School will begin at the normal time for students not riding the bus. School will still release at the same time as normal.
- Plan C: morning transportation cancelled. School will begin at the normal time for students not riding the bus. School will still release at the same time as normal.
