Buchanan High School

Buchanan High School opened its doors during the Fall of 1991.  Since then, the school and the area around Buchanan High School has grown considerably. The Cross Country Program at Buchanan has matured along with the school.  In its infant stage, the program had only 2 girls and 13 boys (1991).  Since then, the program has supported a number of athletes ranging from 60 to 80 members.  The success of the program is contributed to hard work and determination fostered within the program.  The true measurement of success in our program is not the number of victories or failures, but what our athletes become 5 years after they graduate from high school.  Below are some of the accomplishments by the athletes and the coaches!

2023 Girls TRAC League, CIF Central Section Champions! CA State Runner Up!

TRAC: Congrats to Stefania Sesock who was the individual champion! 

CIF Central Section: Girls placed 6 runners in the top 10! Congrats to Elle Lomeli who was the individual champion!

CA State Championships: The Bears took 2nd place at the State XC Champions, losing only by 1 point! 

NXN Nike Team Nationals- 8th place team finish!

2023 Boys Take 1st at TRAC and 2nd at CIF Central Section Championships!

The boys had an amazing 2023 season, making their way to the State Meet as a team for the first time since 2017!

Girls take 8th at 2023 NXN- Nike Team Nationals!
