There are few events in one’s life more significant or more invested with the symbolism of hope than their high school graduation.  There are few deaths more tragic than those of young people, whose lives are stolen by an alcohol or drug related incident as they celebrate the completion of a major educational challenge.  The Sober Graduation Program has proven to be a powerful influence in the prevention of alcohol and drug related vehicle accidents involving 16 to 18-year olds.  It provides a positive, enjoyable, alcohol and drug-free celebration as an alternative to the tradition of making high school graduation an occasion for drinking alcoholic beverages or doing drugs.

The Buchanan Sober Graduation event is put on entirely by Buchanan High parent volunteers, sponsored by our Junior and Sophomore parents.  Our goal is to provide Buchanan High seniors a safe, alcohol and drug free environment full of enjoyable activities, good food, and friends.  Our hopes are high that each year’s celebration will be the best ever.
