SART
At Clovis Unified, parents and community members are active participants in decision-making processing and in evaluating the quality of programs serving their children. Apart from the traditional school site council and parent club, a body called the School Assessment and Review Team exists to provide a forum to learn about a school and to influence the leadership regarding the operation of the school.
The SART process was established in 1973 to facilitate the relationship between parents and the community. It’s used as a formal vehicle to enable parents to study and become knowledgeable about the various programs and components of the operation of a school. It’s also an excellent venue to serve as a communication link between the community and the school.
The school SART committee incorporates broad representation among its members, including the principal, selected staff members, interested parents and community members, students and even citizens who do not have children at the school.
