WelcomeThe Nurse's Office is located in the Administration Office. Parents may stop at the receptionist's desk for directions when coming to pick up a student who is ill. The parents o FIRST AID AND ILLNESSIf your child should become ill or injured at school he/she will receive every care and consideration. Parents will be contacted for injuries of a serious nature or if a student is too ill to remain in school. Injuries, which occur at home, should be cared for at home. The nurse is always happy to consult with parents regarding health problems. Please feel free to call the Nurse's Office. If your child has one of the following he/she should be kept at home.
If none of these were present, it would be appropriate to have your child attend school. EMERGENCY CARDS (IMPORTANT)Keep your child's emergency card updated with current home and work telephone numbers. Provide names and phone numbers of relatives or friends who should be contacted in the event that a parent is unable to be reached. With very busy schedules it is often difficult to reach a parent or responsible adult when students become ill or have an injury. Keep your child posted as to your whereabouts. A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN must sign authorization for seeking emergency treatment on the emergency card. Complete the back of the emergency card. SPECIAL HEALTH NEEDSIf your child has special health needs (i.e. bee sting allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizure disorder, etc.), please contact the nurse in order that special needs can be discussed and arrangements made for your child at school. IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTSIn accordance with the California State Immunization Requirements students will not be admitted without proof of having had the required immunizations.
SCREENING PROGRAMSHearing and vision screening for all 10th grade students and new students to the school district will be conducted in October. Parents will be contacted if there is any indication that further evaluation may be necessary. Parents may refuse screening for their child by sending their refusal in writing to the school nurse.
